Obituary of John

Son of Anthony and Frances De Vries Van Roekel.

He was married to Una North on September 5, 1931 at Omaha, Nebraska.

Appeared in unknown newspaper, have clipping:

John A. Van Roekel, 70, a lifelong resident of Rt. 1, Monroe, died Saturday on his farm, south of Monroe.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Monroe.

The Rev. Wayne K. Anderson, pastor of the church, and the Rev. James M. Burns, former pastor of the the church will conduct services. Burial will be in Silent City Cemetery in Monroe.

Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella is handling arrangements.

Survivors are his wife; a son, Merritt of Monroe; three grandsons; a brother, Henry of Knoxville; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Terpstra of Monroe and Mrs. Howard (Harriet) Macy of Lynnville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Bruce, on Sept. 2, 1953.
