VanRoekel, Ronald Allen

Ronald Allen VanRoekel 1/27/1961 - 11/9/2023 Ron, aged 62, passed away on Thursday, November 9 2023, in the Philippines. He was born in Rock Rapids IA to William and Elbertha VanRoekel. Spent his growing up years in Hudsonville MI where he graduated high school in 1980. He went on to college at DeVry Univ in Columbus OH and graduated in 1983.

He then joined the US Navy spending time in Florida, the Persian Gulf and Japan. After active duty he spent many years with the Navy Reserve Honor Guard at Fort Custer in Battle Creek MI. In August 2014 he moved to Manila, Philippines and married Miles Tarinque on October 8, 2014. She passed away from cancer in Autumn of 2017.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Miles, parents William and Elbertha Van Roekel, brother William J VanRoekel, and brother-in-law Gregory Barrett. He is survived by his siblings Darlene Barrett, Laurie (Reinhard) Petermeier, Jerry (Heather) VanRoekel and Kathy (William) King, plus many nieces and nephews as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
