Gerrit John Gradus Korver

Mr. John G. Korver, 93, of Orange City, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, in the Long Term Care Facility of the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 10 a.m., at the First Reformed Church in Orange City, with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen and the Rev. David Ter Beest officiating. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

John was born January 21, 1901, at Hospers, the son of George and Christine (Mouw) Korver. On March 2, 1928, he married Marguerite Jurriaans at Orange City. Except for a few years at Hospers, they farmed at Orange City, retiring into Orange City about 1974. Mrs. Korver passed away March 21, 1993, at Orange City. In June of this year, Mr. Korver became a resident of the hospital.

Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Connie Korver, of Orange City; six grandchildren, Gregory and his wife, Susan; Gerrit R. "Gerry"; Jeffrey and his wife, Karen; Patricia and her husband, Steven Thomas; Joel; and Thomas; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Minnie Muilenburg of Sibley; Anna Bomgaars of Le Mars; and a brother, James of Alton. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Gerald; three brothers, William, Henry, and Marion; and a sister, Martina Muilenburg.

Marguerite Korver, 88, of Orange City died Sunday, March 21. at the Orange City Municipal Hospital. Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday. March 24, at First Reformed Church In Orange City with the Rev. Steven Vander Molen officiating. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City.

The former Marguerite Jurriaans was born September 8, 1904, In Maurice, the daughter of Daniel and Josephine (Dykstra) Jurriaans. She married John G. Korver March 2, 1928. in Orange City. Except for a few years at Hospers. they farmed at Orange City, retiring into town about 1974. She was a member of First Reformed Church.

Survivors include her husband; a son Gerald and his wife Connie of Orange City, six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
