Obituaries of Cornelia and Ethel

Case Langstraat, 64, Sioux Center, died Jan. 10 in a Sioux Center hospital of a long illness. Services were at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 13 in the Central Reformed Church. The Rev. Wesley Kiel officiated. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery under direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Langstraat was born Nov. 14, 1912 near Newkirk. He married Ethel Kastein on March 11, 1938 at Hospers. They resided a year at Sibley, then moved to Sioux Center.

Ethel W. Langstraat, 79, of Sioux Center died Sunday, December 20, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were Wednesday at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, the Rev. Dennis Wilcox officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home.

She was born October 8, 1913, in rural Hospers, the daughter of William and Minnie (Vos) Kastein. She attended school in the rural Hospers area. On March 11, 1938, she married Case Langstraat of Newkirk, at the home of her parents in rural Hospers.

The couple lived a year in rural Sibley before moving to a farm at Sioux Center. They farmed until his death in 1977. She then moved into Sioux Center and retired into the Homestead in 1985.

She was a member of Central Reformed Church, the Reformed Church Women's Group and the Golden Age Society.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mae Vander Wilt; and a brother, Gerhard Kastein.
