HULSTEIN, KRAIG FAMILY
Kraig Allen Hulstein was born to Ken and Eunice (Schutt) Hulstein on September 20, 1959. He attended the Sioux Center Community Schools. Following graduation Kraig attended IA State University for 1 year. He then attended the National College of Business in Rapid City for 1 year. He then spent approximately 1 1/2 years as a long haul trucker, before returning to the family farm in 1982. Feb. 26, 1983, Kraig married Cheryl Lynn De Gooyer, daughter of Donald De Gooyer and Mae De Gooyer of Sioux Center.

Cheri had been born on March 11, 1960, in Sioux Center and had attended school with Kraig starting with Kindergarten and ending with graduation in 1978. She the worked for several years before returning to school at Sioux City's St. Joseph's Mercy School of Nursing, graduating as a RN. A son Ryan Cole was born to the couple on August 30, 1983. Cheri then began working at the Sioux Center Community Hospital in the surgery Department, working there for 4 years. During this time a daughter, Katie Mae, was born on May 9, 1985. At about the time of Katie's birth the family moved to their present place of residence, 3 miles west and 1 1/2 miles north of Sioux Center.
Cheri is presently employed as a nurse at the Sioux Center Community Hospital and also teaches some 1st aide and CPR classes. Kraig is active on the farm that he operates with his father and brothers, Kirk and Kelly. Kraig, Cheri and their family enjoy riding horse together and camping.
