Obituary of Derk:
Funeral services will be held at the Porter Funeral home in Rock Valley at 1 p. m. Thursday, December 26, for Derk Rozeboom, 96, of Rock Valley, who died December 22 at the Rock Valley Nursing home.

Services will be conducted by the Rev. J. Van Sweden and burial will be made in Valley View cemetery.

Mr. Rozeboom was born December 6, 1872, in The Netherlands. He was married to Gertrude Rozeboom March 5, 1893. She died April 15, 1945.
On October 13, 1949, he was married to Anna Franken. She died in April of 1962.

Mr. Rozeboom farmed in the Rock Valley area until his retirement. He had resided in the Rock Valley Nursing Home since last May.

Survivors include two sons, Gerrit of Alvord and Henry of The Netherlands; two daughters, Mrs. Gerrit Vanden Top and Mrs. Anthony Roskam, both of Rock Valley; 52 grandchildren, 200 great grandchildren and 25 great, great grandchildren.

Mrs. Dick Rozeboom Dies Sunday at the Age of 73 Years A northwest Iowa pioneer, Mrs. Dick Rozeboom, died Sunday, April 16 at her home here. She was 73 years of age. She had been ill for about six months.
Funeral services are being held this Thursday afternoon, at 12:30 at the home and 2:00 at the Netherlands Reformed church, Elders J. Van Surksum and C. Blom, officiating.

Gertrude Roseboom was born in Eda, the Netherlands, on Aug. 26, 1871. She was married to Dick Rozeboom in Eda, in 1893, and became the mother of six children, three boys and three girls. Arriving in America in 1913, they settled near Lebanon, la., and two years later moved to a farm near Alvord. They also lived in Rock Rapids, moving back later to Alvord, where they spent eight years, and two years in Inwood. For the last fifteen years, they have been residents of Rock Valley.

Left to mourn her death are her husband and all the children: Lane Rozeboom of Doon, (Elizabeth) Mrs. Gerrit Vanden Top of Inwood, (Sophie) Mrs. Roskam of Hawarden, (Minnie) Mrs. Klarenbeek of Alvord, William and Gerrit Rozeboom of Rock Valley. She was grandmother to 53 children, and had 9 great grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Minnie Van Zanten, lives in Muskegon, Mich., and she had thre brothers and a sister still in Holland. They are Ceel, Jake, Mass and Jennie Roseboom.

Pallbearers are Dick Roskam, Ot. Vanden Top, Kay Klarenbeek, Dick Vanden Top, Dick Rozeboom, and Teunis Rozeboom, all grandchildren.

Obituary of Anna:
Mrs. Dick Rozeboom Dies Here Tuesday
Funeral services will be held at the Netherlands Reformed church here at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13 for Mrs. Dick L. Rozeboom, 83, longtime Sioux Center resident, who passed away at the Sioux Center Community hospital Tuesday evening following a lengthy illness. She had been confined to the hospital since fracturing a hip in November.

Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. J. Van Sweden of Rock Valley, in the absence of the Rev. C. liegeman, and burial will be made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Co-operative Funeral Service of Sioux Center.
A brief service attended by members of the immediate family will be held at the Little Chapel at 12:30 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Rozeboom, nee Anna Zomermaand, was born at Drantha, Netherlands, August 13, 1878, the daughter of Egbert Zomermaand and Lummega Wobben. At the age of 14 she immigrated to the U. S. with her brother and sister. They lived for a time in Colorado and then moved to northwest Iowa. Following her marriage to John Kosters of this area the couple lived at Doon. Mr. Kosters passed away in 1915.

Later she was married to Arie Franken of this vicinity, and has since resided in Sioux Center. She had one son, E. John Kosters, by her first husband, and one daughter and three sons by her second husband.

Following the passing of Mr. Franken in 1948 she continued to reside in Sioux Center and was married on October 27, 1949, to Dick L. Rozeboom, who survives her. Mrs. Rozeboom is also survived by her five children, E. J. Kosters of Sioux Center, Lucile (Mrs. Lewis M.) Wierda of Maurice, Henry A .Franken and Joe Franken of Sioux Center and Everette James Franken of Redlands, Cal. Other survivors include a brother, Egbert Zomermaand of Sioux Center, 23 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
