Dick Van Wyk, 69, of Hawarden, died Friday (May 13, 1977) at a hospital there.
Services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the Commimity Reformed church. Rev. Phillip Frens and Rev. Harold Siegloff officiated. Burial was In Grace Hill cemetery. Dow funeral home was In charge of arrangements.
Mr. Van Wyk was born Jan. 9,1908 in the Netherlands. He married Alice Rozeboom Dec. 12, 1940 at Siqux Center. They farmed in the Rock Valley community, and retired last January. He was a member of the Community Reformed. Church.
Survivors are His wife; two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Diane) Ten Napel of Ireton, and Debra of Hawarden; three sons, John and Stan of Hawarden and Gerald of Hudson, S.D.; eight grandchildren; three sisters; Mrs. Hendrene Schutt of Warsaw, Ind., Mrs. Martha Van Roekel of Valley Springs, S.D., arid Mrs. Leonard (Gertrude) VanderEsch of Hawarden.

HAWARDEN, Iowa - Alice Van Wyk, 84, of Hawarden died Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Hillcrest Health Care Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Community Reformed Church in Hawarden, with the Rev. David Tellinghuisen officiating. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Porter Funeral Home in Hawarden.
Mrs. Van Wyk was born April 26, 1915, near Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of John H. and Anna (Kruizenga) Rozeboom.
She married Dick Van Wyk on Dec. 12, 1940, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed near Rock Rapids, Iowa for one year and then near Hudson, S.D. Since 1957, they farmed near Hawarden until moving into Hawarden in January 1977. He died May 13, 1977. She entered Hillcrest Care Center in March 1996.
She was a charter member of Community Reformed Church and enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
Survivors include three sons and their wives, John and Betty of Ireton, Iowa, and Gerald and Genee and Stan and Lynette, all of Hawarden; two daughters and their husbands, Diane and Dennis Ten Napel of Ireton and Deb and Ernie Gabel of Akron, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Gerrit and Kathleen Rozeboom and Marion "Bud" and Gertrude Rozeboom, all of Sioux Center; a sister, Eldine Wegener of Peculiar, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Vander Esch of Hawarden and Hendrene Schutt of Warsaw, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Eugene; and two brothers, James and Dick Rozeboom.

IRETON, Iowa -- John D. Van Wyk, 63, of rural Ireton died suddenly Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ireton, with the Rev. Jeff Swanson officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the American Legion Bertram Post 276. Visitation will begin at noon today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Porter Funeral Home in Ireton.
John D. Van Wyk was born Dec. 10, 1941, in Sioux Center, Iowa, the son of Dick and Alice (Rozeboom) Van Wyk. He attended rural schools and served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, serving from March 1964 to 1966.
He married Betty Hoffman on July 1, 1967, in Akron, Iowa. They farmed and lived near Hawarden, Iowa for 24 years, where he was employed at Lambertson Elevator from 1977 to 1988. In June 1988, he began working for the Ireton Co-op Gas and Oil, where he drove a gas truck. They moved near Ireton in 1991.
He was a member of the American Legion Bertram Post 276 of Ireton. He and his sons restored International-Farmall tractors and enjoyed collecting toy tractors. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing and time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; two sons, Johnny and his wife, Selene of Alcester, S.D., and Pat of Ireton; a daughter and her husband, Julie and Dan Schipper of Ireton; a daughter-in-law, Michelle of Ireton; two brothers and their wives, Gerald and Genee and Stan and Lynette, all of Hawarden, Iowa; two sisters and their husbands, Diane and Dennis Ten Napel of Ireton and Deb and Ernie Gabel of Akron, Iowa; six grandchildren, Cody and Cade Van Wyk, Danna and Kendra Schipper and Holly and Tristan Van Wyk; three brothers-in-law and wives, Ken and Katherine Hoffman and Ray and Betty Hoffman, all of Westfield, Iowa and Don Hoffman of Akron, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Goldie Friske of Akron and Ida Searles of Westfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Kenneth Eugene; a son, Ken on July 18, 2003; his parents-in-law, Ray and Marie Hoffman; and three brothers-in-law, Gene Hoffman, Art Friske and Lloyd Searles.

Kenneth "Ken" Van Wyk 31, of rural Ireton, Iowa, died suddenly Friday July 18, from the result of a farm accident.
Funeral services was held Tuesday, July 22, at Ireton Community Center in Ireton with Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Ireton.
Ken was born Feb. 26, 1972 in Akron, Iowa, the son of John and Betty (Hoffman) Van Wyk Sr. He graduated from West Sioux High School in 1990. He married Michelle Nabity on June 15, 1996 at Alcester. They made their home in Ireton for eight months then moved to their acreage northeast of Ireton. He was employed at the Bar-K Farms at Carmel. Mr. Van Wyk was a member of the Hawarden Saddle Club and Hope Lutheran Church of Sioux Center. He enjoyed working on tractors, tractor pulls and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Michell; two sons, Cody and Cade; his parents, John & Betty Van Wyk in Ireton; two brothers, Johnny Van Wyk and his wife Selene of Alcester and Pat Van Wyk of Ireton; a sister Julie Schipper and husband Dan of Ireton; his parents-in-law, Melissa and Steve Eggen of Beresford and Larry and Mary Nabity of Alcester; four brother-in-laws; a sister-in-law; and five nephews and nieces; several cousins and other relatives and friends.
He preceded in death by grandparents, Ray and Nellie "Marie" (Godfrey) Hoffman, uncle, Lloyd Gene Hoffman, a niece.
