Funeral services for Herman Van Den Hul were held Monday, Nov. 8 at the Christian Reormed church. The Rev. Garret S. Kok officiated. Burial was in the Valley View cemetery with the Lockwood Funeral home of Rock Rapids in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Van Den Hul, 73, died Thursday, Nov. 4 in the Sioux Center Community hospital, where he had been for six days. He was born to Maas and Marie Van Den Hul on April 8 1881 in the Netherlands. He was married to Teuntje Velzen Oct. 13, 1906. His occupation was farming. Pall bearers were H. Rozeboom, Marion Rozeboom, Herman Van Den Hul, George Van Den Hul, Gilbert Scholten and Henry Cushman, all grandsons of Mr. Van den Hul.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Peter Rozeboom of Rock Valley and Mrs. Henry Kamp of Larchwood; three sons, Max of Larchwood, Cornie of Rock Rapids, and Gerrit of Sioux Falls; one brother, Ruth of the Netherlands; 30 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Van Den Hul services held June 16
Funeral services for Mrs Herman Van Den Hul, 78, who died Sunday following a lingering illness at Larchwood, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at the Porter Funeral Home. The Rev. Peter Huisman, pastor of the Reformed church of Rock Rapids, officiated. Burial was in Valley View cemetery.
Mrs Van Den Hul was born in the Netherlands July 25, 1886, and was married to Mr Van Den Hul there on Oct. 13, 1906. They came to the United States and this area in 1920. He died in 1954.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Peter Rozeboom of Rock Valley and Mrs Henry Kamp of Larchwood; three sons, Max of Larchwood, Cornie of Rock Rapids and Gerrit of Sioux Falls; 31 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four children, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rozeboom, the former Marie Van Den Hul, was born December 14, 1909, at Benikom, The Netherlands. She came to the United States and to the Sioux County area in 1918.
She married Peter Rozeboom October 9, 1930, at Larchwood. In 1932 they moved to the Rock Valley area where they farmed. They moved into Rock Valley in 1963 where he operated P & M Electric. Mr,. Rozeboom died October 6, 1981.
Survivors include five sons, Herman and Marion, both of Sioux Falls. S.D. and Marvin, Delmar and Vernon, all of Rock Valley; one daughter, Mrs. Ted (Henrietta) King of Canyon Country, Calif.; two brothers, Cornie of Artesia, Calif., and Gerrit of Sioux'Falls; one sister, Gertrude Kamp of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He married Christina Hop in Rock Rapids, IA on February 12, 1943. They lived in-Rock Rapids where Cornie hauled for cemeteries in Rock Rapids and Luverne, MN. The family then moved to Artesia, CA. Cornie was a janitor at Cerritos College, and had his own lawn care business. They moved to Sioux Center in 1989. In April of 1996 he moved to the Health Center.
He was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church and a men's Biblestudy group both in Sioux Center. Cornie loved fishing, doing lawn care, and visiting with his kids & grand kids.
Survivors include his wife; two sons & their wives: Jake & Phyllis and Herm & Dawn all of Sioux Center, three daughters & their husbands: Thelma & Jim Van Otterloo of Ripon, CA, Nettie & Tom Griffin of Shelby, NC, Cheryl & Calvin Westra of Ontario, CA; a special niece & her Husband: Toni & Harold Van Wyhe of Luveme, MN; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers (Max & Gerrit), and two sisters (Gert & Marie).
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 20th at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, Iowa. The service was officiated by Rev. Robert Drenten.

Christine Aleida Van Den Hul, 86, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, December 24, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Facility. Memorial services were Monday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Rev. Stephen Rhoda officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Sioux Center.
Mrs. Van Den Hul was born to Jacob and Antonia (Dibbets) Hop on August 21, 1916, in Arnhem, The Netherlands. She married Cornie Van Den Hul on February 12, 1943. The couple lived in Rock Rapids until 1972 at which time they moved to Artesia, California. In 1989, they moved to Sioux Center. He died February 16, 1999, while residing in the Sioux Center Community Nursing Facility.
She moved into the nursing wing February 22, 1999, and was a resident there at the time of her death. She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center and was active in Coffee Break, a woman's Bible study group, until her health no longer permitted it. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was widely known for her peanut brittle. She loved visiting with her children, grandchildren, neighbors and anyone else who would like to chat, and she also loved singing.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Jake and Phyllis Van Den Hul of Sioux Falls and Herm and Dawn Van Den Hul of Sioux Center; three daughters and sons-in-law: Thelma and Jim Van Otterloo of Ripon, California, Nettie and Tom Griffin of Shelby, North Carolina, and Cheryl and Calvin Westra of Lake Almanor, California; a special niece and her husband, Toni and Harold Van Wyhe of Luverne, Minnesota; along with her 15 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters, Artie (Albertus) Hulstein of Rock Rapids, Alyda (Edwin) Saeger of Rock Rapids and Tillie (Tom) Wietzema of Sibley; brother, Jake and his wife Gerdena of Bellevue, Nebraska; two sisters-in-law, Albertha (Bernard) Hop of Edgerton, Minnesota, and Marie (Gerrit) Hop of Artesia, California; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Gerrit and Bernard Hop; and two sisters, Johanna Hop and Jennie Jabaay.
