Paul C. Ludwick, 80, of 815 E. Locust Davenport, died Wednesday, April 6, 1994, at Manor Care, Davenport. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at First Church of the Nazarene, Oskaloosa, Iowa, where he was a member.
Burial is in Salem Cemetery, Lynnville, Iowa. Visitation is 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Garland-VanAr-kel-Langkamp Funeral Home, Oskaloosa. Memorials may be made to the church. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Ludwick married Bertha Budding in 1940, in Lancaster, Mo. She died Feb. 15, 1993. He had retired in 1977 as a crane operator for various construction companies.
He was an automobile mechanic since 1946, working for the old Thayer Chevrolet and Monast Buick dealerships and as a partner in the old Jackson Buick dealership. He owned and operated his own shop, Anders Motors in Oskaloosa, for over 40 years, where he repaired and sold cars and lawnmowers, retiring in the late 1980s. Four mechanics who worked for him went on to start their own auto repair shops, and another became a body shop owner. To his many customers, he was simply Louie, a friend and the keeper of their cars. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa and the Dutchmasters Auto Club. He moved from Oskaloosa to Marshalltown in March of 2008.
Survivors include three sons, Bryce (Sharon) Anders of Abilene, Texas, Verlyn (Peg) Anders of Houston, Texas, and Roger (Donita) Anders of Marshalltown; a daughter, Sylvia (Wayne) Horras of Hedrick; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother and his wife, Virgil and Catherine Anders of Oskaloosa. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Vivian Augustine and Mary Hinman and an infant brother, Leslie.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Dr. Dennis Morey officiating.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. today at the Central Reformed Church, Oskaloosa; the Rev. Don DeGlopper and Pastors Del Bittner and Dudley Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery, Oskaloosa. Family prayer service will be held at 9:45 a.m. today in the west wing of the church.
Visitation was held Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Central Reformed Church or to the Rose Hill Community Church.

Jeanette Frances Budding was born April 25, 1922, the daughter of Joe and Anna Marie VanEnglandburg Budding, at Sully. She attended Searsboro High School, and graduated in 1939. From there she went to college at Cedar Falls and received her teaching degree. Upon completion of her schooling, Frances taught country school in the Lynnville Sully area for several years.
On November 23, 1945, J. Frances Budding was united in marriage to Victor Smith of Goldfield at Oskaloosa. The couple farmed in the Lynnville area until 1954, when they moved to Goldfield. Victor died in 1975. Frances moved to Humboldt where she was employed as a nurses aide at the North Care Center for 12 years.
She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield, including the Morning Circle, Presbyterian Women's Association, Sunday School teacher, and the Youth Club for many years. Frances was very active with the Humboldt County 4-H Club as a leader.
Jeanette Frances Smith died January 3, 1990 at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital, Humboldt, at the age of 67 years, eight months, and eight days. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Jennie Kucera and Nellie Klein; two nephews and one niece. She is survived by two brothers, Joe Budding, Lynnville; John, Wilton; four sisters, Mrs. John (Henrietta) Wouda, Sully; Mrs. Paul (Bertha) Ludwick, and Mrs. Louis (Eva) Anders, both of Oskaloosa, and Mrs. Floyd (Nola) Smith, Goldfield.
Funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield on January 6, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Victor V. Victoria officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

On April 14, 1951, Glenna was united in marriage to Joe A. Budding, Jr. To this union three children were born: Deborah Kay, Doris Joann and David Joe. Following their marriage they lived in the Lynnville-Sully area. Glenna worked for over 25 years at the Best Western Motel in Grinnell and enjoyed the many different people she met there.
She enjoyed the state fair and was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Lynnville Sully Hawks. She enjoyed eating out with friends, playing cards and traveling to many different parts of the country. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Glenna was a member of the Sully Christian Reformed Church and through the years attended Ruth Circle and the Coffee Break Ministries.
Those left to cherish her memory are her family: Deborah Harper, Melissa Spivey, Joey and Jamie Spivey, Ezra, Nora, Katelyn and Marco Mahilaj, Jordan Spivey, Doris and George Patch, Alisha Patch, Ella and Isaiah Hunsberger, Trevor and Meagan Patch, Mary, Ada, Amber Patch, David and Laurie Budding, Nathan Budding, Savanna, Derrick.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Van Engelenhoven, and many nieces and nephews.
Glenna was preceded in death by her husband Joe, parents John and Dora Van Engelenhoven, her brothers: Henry, Gilbert Van Engelenhoven, and Albert and Tena Mae Van Engelenhoven; brothers-in-law: George and Jennie Kucera, John and Henrietta Wouda, Louis and Eva Anders, Frances and Vis Smith, Elmer and Nellie Klein, John and Gwen Budding, Floyd and Nola Smith, and Bertha and Paul Ludwick.
Nola Marjorie Smith, the daughter of Joe and Anna Marie (VanEnglandburg) Budding, was born November 2, 1931, in Sully, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the Searsboro, Iowa area, attending school in Searsboro, and graduating with the class of 1949.
On August 10, 1950, Nola was united in marriage with Floyd M. Smith in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She worked as a waitress, and in a grocery story while Floyd was overseas in the military. After Floyd was discharged from the service, they made their home in the Lynnville area until 1954, when they moved to Goldfield. Nola was a housewife and they farmed in the area until their retirement in 1992, when they moved into town. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Morning Circle and Presbyterian Women.
Nola passed away June 16, 2008, at the Humboldt Care Center North in Humboldt at the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Jennie Kucera, Heinie Wouda, Nellie Klein, Eva Anders, Bertha Ludwick, Frances Smith and brother, Joe Budding. Nola is survived by her husband, Floyd of Goldfield; children, Diane Kraft (Mike) of Goldfield, Donna Smith of Clarion and friend Bob Pooler of Boone, Sheri Nielsen (Bill) of Hardy and Scott Smith (Deandra) of Shelby, Iowa; grandchildren, Joanna and Daniel Kraft of Goldfield, Michael Nielsen of Ames, Katie and Rachael Smith of Eagle Grove; step-grandchildren, Desiree Paty of Aberdeen, SD, and Nathan Paty of Shelby; brother, John Budding (Gwen) of Cedar Rapids; sister-in-law, Glenna Budding of Lynnville and brother-in-law, Louis Anders of Marshalltown, and many nieces and nephews.

Floyd Smith was born June 21, 1926, at Laurens, Iowa, to Jess Lonzo and Ethel Mae (Wrider) Smith. He attended schools in Ware, Centerville, Lynnville, and Grinnell, graduating from Grinnell in 1946.
He married Nola Marjorie Budding on August 10, 1950, in Oskaloosa. Floyd farmed with his brother, Vic, until entering the Korean Conflict with the 10th Infantry, Company M, 185th Infantry (Heavy Mortar), 25th Division. He obtained the rank of Sergeant. Following his honorable discharge he returned to farming in the Lynnville area, until moving to Goldfield in 1954 where he resumed farming with his brother Vic. Floyd and his wife retired in 1992 and moved into Goldfield. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Goldfield.
Floyd is survived by his children, Diane (Mike) Kraft, Goldfield; Donna Smith, Webster City; Sheri (Bill) Nielsen, Hardy; and Scott Smith, Shelby (Taricia English, Falls City, Ne.); six grandchildren, Michael Nielsen, Ames; Katie Smith, Webster City; Rachael Smith, Eagle Grove; Joanna Kraft and Daniel Kraft, both of Goldfield, and Marjorie Smith, Falls City, Ne; two step-grandchildren, Desiree Paty, Cumberland, and Nathan Paty, Shelby. Also, Andrea English, Sioux Falls, SD, Jamie English, Lincoln, Ne, and Erica, Jessica, and Sarah Rickards, Falls City, Ne; two step-great grandchildren; one sister-in-law Glenna Budding, Lynnville, and one brother-in-law, John Budding, Grinnell.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nola; parents; brother, Victor, and sisters, Thelma Pickich, Irene Terrill, and Beulah Machin.
