Honor Loy HICKENBOTTOM

Honor Loy HICKENBOTTOM, 59, of Libertyville died at 3:20 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 1995, at her home. The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Robert Gates officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home. Memorials to First Christian Church or the Fairfield Public Library are requested in lieu of flowers.

Mrs. HICKENBOTTOM was born April 5, 1936, in Harrisburg Township, Van Buren County to Fred A. and Marie Jane HELM WESTERCAMP. She married Fred L. HICKENBOTTOM Aug. 1, 1971, at the Peoples Church in Batavia.

She graduated from Stockport High School in 1953 and then attended and graduated from the Burlington Beauty Academy in Burlington. She was a beautician for 30 years and operated Honor Loy's Beauty Shop. She was a member of First Christian Church and former member of the Fairfield Square Dance Club. She also was the former worthy matron in the Stockport Chapter of Order of Eastern Star.

Mrs. HICKENBOTTOM is survived by her husband; two daughters, Deborah A. ARCHIBALD of Columbus, Ind., and Denise WELLS of Stockport; one son, Darren Keller of Cedar Rapids; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph of Florissant, Mo., and Daniel of Bettendorf; and three sisters, Tessie LANE of Stockport, Shirley MAXWELL of Burlington, and Minnette GIBERSON of Keosauqua.

Her parents preceded her in death.

Obituary of Honor Loy

Shirley Jane Maxwell, 74, of West Burlington, died 3:20 p.m. November 14, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Born on October 27, 1940 in rural Van Buren County, Iowa, she was the daughter of Fred and Marie (Helm) Westercamp. She married Richard Maxwell on November 5, 1961 in Stockport, Iowa.

She was a 1958 graduate of Stockport High School and a graduate of Burlington Junior College School of Nursing.

Mrs, Maxwell was a Registered Nurse at Burlington Medical Center for 32 years, retiring in 1996. She was a member of the Jane Delano Retired Nurses Association and Peace Lutheran Church, where she served on the church council and with the Women's Circle.

She volunteered to assist with special needs children in the Burlington School District for five years and with Great River Hospice for seven years. She loved her cats,enjoyed gardening, quilting and time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Ralph Westercamp and one sister Honor Loy.
