A short time later she met her husband to be, Jake De Ronde; they were married February 9, 1945 at her parent's home near Oskaloosa. They farmed near Eddyville for 11 years, and then moved to a farm south of Oskaloosa. In 1997 they moved into Oskaloosa. In 2004 Margaret moved to Maple Ridge where she has resided until the past two months, at which time she moved to the Oskaloosa Care Center.
For 16 years Margaret and Jacob enjoyed wintering in Florida and they took many fishing trips to Canada with family and friends. Margaret enjoyed her family, friends and neighbors in every place she lived. She enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, cooking, and sharing her daily devotions with friends. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Oskaloosa.
Margaret's family includes three daughters: Linda and Wayne De Bruin, Faye and Jim Drost, and Carolyn and Lee De Groot; one son, Jay and Wanda De Ronde, all of Oskaloosa; 12 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren and 23 step-great grandchildren and 3 step-great great grandchildren; two brothers: Marion and Bertha Roozeboom and Pete and Freda Roozeboom of Pella; one sister Evadena Roose of Pella; two brothers in-law; Tunis Hol and John and Ruth Van Weelden of Oskaloosa; two sister in-law: Dorothy De Ronde and Anna Ryken of Oskaloosa.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jacob; one grandson, Jeffrey De Bruin; one son-in-law, Jay Armstrong; one sister, Jeannette Van Weelden and one brother, Henry Roozeboom.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oskaloosa Christian School.
Visitation will begin at 10 am Sunday morning, January 30, 2011 at Garland-Van
Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel.
The family will be at the funeral chapel from 2-4 pm to greet friends and relatives.

A family prayer service will be held in the church basement at 10:15 preceding the
funeral service.

On February 16, 1944, she and Marion Roozeboom were united in marriage at her parents' home and to this union two children were born: Kenneth John and Joleen Kay. Marion and Bertha continued farming his parents’ farm in Marion County near Bussey, Iowa until they moved into Pella, Iowa in 1988. The farm always remained a part of Marions’ life and for many years they spent winters in their motor home traveling to Florida. They were privileged to have observed their 70th wedding anniversary just prior to Marions’ death on February 28, 2014. Bertha enjoyed gardening and raising flowers and had an appreciation for music; and her main focus was her family.
In 2007 she became a resident at Vriendschap Village in Pella where she passed away on December 27, 2017, at the age of 95 years. Bertha is survived by her two children, seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. They are:
For many years Bertha and Marion were members of the Tracy Christian Reformed Church in Tracy, Iowa and at the time of her death she was a member of the Calvary Christian Reformed in Pella where she remained a faithful member until the time of her death.
