Services for Albert Roozeboom, 73, of Knoxville, who died May 12, 1992 at his home, were held May 16 at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home. Interment was in Bellefountaine Cemetery at Tracy. The Rev. William Jenkins, Jr. officiated at the services. Music was provided by Carolyn Veenstra, organist, and Sherry Kay Jenkins, soloist. Pallbearers were Kirk Veenstra, Jason and Jeff Arkema, Ryan and Tony Roozeboom, Scott and Paul Bridges, Donnic Light, Doug Rankin and Justin Paul.
Mr. Roozeboom was born March 22, 1919 at Beacon, the son of Marinus and Louisa Hoksbergen Roozeboom. He attended grade school in the Beacon vicinity and served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
On Sept. 5, 1942, he married Martha Scotten at Indianapolis, Ind. The family lived in Indiana and Phoenix, Ariz, for several years during which time he farmed and worked as a welder. In 1965, they moved to Knoxville and he worked as a welder at John Deere in Ottumwa, retiring in 1981. Since that time he has mowed lawns, tilled gardens, and plowed snow.
He was a member of First Reformed Church in Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Marion in infancy and Henry in 1943; and two grandsons, Kent Veenstra and Colin Arkema.
He is survived by his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Lester (Katrina) Veenstra of Pella, Mrs. Steven (Shari) Arkema Jr. of Tracy; Mrs. Neil (Andrea) Rankin of Knoxville, Elaine Light of Knoxville, and Mrs. Michael (Martha) Paul of Des Moines; one son, Paul of Knoxville; 17 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Evelyn) Boat of Pella and Mrs. William (Nellie) Wanders of Phoenix, Ariz.
A memorial has been established for the Ruby Van Meter Schools in Des Moines.

Obituary
Martha May Roozeboom was born on October 2, 1922 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Chauncey M. Scotton and Norris M.(Sutton)Scotton. She grew up in Cincinnati and Indianapolis, Ohio, graduating from the Immanuel Tech Indianapolis High School with the class of 1939.
She was united in marriage to Albert Roozeboom on September 5, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Martha worked for the Knoxville Journal for many years as a type-set before retiring. She was a member of the Living Word Fellowship Church and enjoyed going to church for the message and music. Martha enjoyed baking for her family and quilting and had made many quilts for nursing home residents. But her greatest passion was sharing her love for the Lord.
Martha passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Pella Regional Health Center at the age of 90 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert, son, Paul; sister, Zenetia Tresslar brothers, Lloyd and Hugh Scotton; grandchildren, Collin Arkema, Kent Veenstra, Donnie Light.
Survivors include her daughters, Katrina(Les)Veenstra, of Pella; Shari(Nick)Arkema of Pella, Andi(Neil)Rankin of Knoxville, Elaine(Darrel)Stanton of Knoxville and Martha(Mike)Paul of Des Moines; grandchildren, Kirk, Dawn, Jeff, Jenny, Jason, Tony, Ryan, Paula, Doug, Joy, Scott, Paul, Bobbi Jo, Christie, Brenda, Justin; and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services at Living Word Fellowship-Knoxville, IA. Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 10 am Pastor Doug Brady, officiating. Interment in Bellfountaine Cemetery, Tracy, Iowa. Mrmorial contributions may be made to the Sowers of the Living Word, Philippines; Pastora Maxima & Pastora Letty. Martha supported this mission. Visitation 2-4 pm 1/1/2013, Bybee & Davis Funeral Home Knoxville, IA. Service 10 am 1/2/2013.
