Mr. Fluit was born December 4, 1875, in Bennekom, Netherlands. In 1902 he was united in marriage to Clazina Meyers, who preceded him in death in 1944, and to this union nine children were born, eight of whom survive.
They include Henry of Rock Rapids; William of Inwood; Tena, Mrs. Gerrit Rozeboom, of Doon; Gertie, Mrs. Henry J. Van Voorst, of Hull; Clazina, Mrs. Henry R. Hoefakker, of Rock Valley; Jella of Orange City; Dora, Mrs. Ray Klaarenbeek, of Inwood; and Teunis of Alvord. There are also 62 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren surviving.
His oldest daughter, Jennie, Mrs. William Rozeboom, preceded him in death in 1948.

Mr. Henry Van Voorst was born April 6, 1908, in the Netherlands. On January 3, 1934, he was united in marriage to Gertie Fluit at Lester.
One brother, Jacob, Jr., of Rock Valley, his father, Jake, Sr., and one sister (who died in infancy) preceded him in death.

She was preceded in death by four grandchildren, four brothers and one sister.
She had been a life-long resident of the Sioux Center area, moving into Sioux Center a few years after Henry had died. Her passing is mourned by her many friends and relatives.
Services at the Vander Ploeg Chapel at 1:30 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. at the Netherlands Reformed Church on Tuesday, August 4, 1987. Burial in the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Sioux Center, Iowa on Tuesday, August 4, 1987.
