Obituary of Harold:
Harold F. Veenstra, 91, of Springfield, died Tuesday, March 12, 2002, at Springfield Medical Center. Services are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Springfield United Methodist Church, with burial in Springfield City Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today and 8-11:45 a.m. Thursday at Sturm Funeral Home, Springfield, and Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.

He is survived by his wife, Edna, of Springfield; sons, Mile Veenstra of Clements and Gary of Springfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Gentz of Springfield.

He was born Sept. 15, 1910, in Perry, Iowa, to Henry and Jenny (Landis) Veenstra.

Lelend L. Veenstra, 79, 2922 Cottonwood Ave, Bellingham, WA passed away Jan 3, 1992 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born Jan 14, 1912 in Perry, Iowa, moved to Whatcom County in 1954. Leland worked as a stillman operator at Mobil Refinery.

Survivors are his wife Eleanor of the family home; three sons, Dan and wife Toni Veenstra, Jack Veenstra of Calif, and Richard "Dick" Veenstra of Bellingham; two brothers, Harold and Edna Veenstra of Minn and Don and Peggy Veenstra of Calif; sister Lois Veenstra of Minn; 2 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held 2:30 pm Wednesday, Jan 8, at Jerns LeVeck Funeral Chapel. Arrangements and services under the Direction of Jerns LeVeck Funeral Home.

Eleanor C. Veenstra, age 90, passed away September 11, 2007 at Christian Health Care Center in Lynden. She came to Bellingham in 1954 and was a bookkeeper for local businesses for 10 years.

Eleanor was an active member of Assumption Catholic Parish. She worked with the "Hot Meals" program and was active in the Bellingham/Whatcom County Art Guild for many years.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Leland, and son Richard. She is survived by her sons Dan Veenstra and Jack Veenstra.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association in her name. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, September 17, 2007 at Assumption Catholic Church at 10:30 am with Father Scott Donnolly officiating. Burial will follow at Bayview Cemetery.
