Dorothy grew up on the family farm near Taintor. Dorothy was united in marriage with Andrew L. Van Zee at her parents' home near Taintor, Iowa on Feburary 24, 1939. Andrew and Dorothy farmed many farms in the area. Dorothy spent most of her life as a housewife, and also worked as a cook at the Pella Regional Health Center.
They loved to travel together, especially to the cranberry bogs of Wisconsin. Dorothy was a long-time member of the Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Pella. She was a skillful baker of cakes, and loved to work on hand crafts. Dorothy crocheted and embroidered many special gifts for her family.
Dorothy is survived by her siblings: Mary Stewart of Oskaloosa, Charly Beyer of Sully, Carrol and Mary Lou Beyer of Searsboro, and Arlene and Lloyd Brand of Sully; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Andrew, in 1997.
Dorothy will be remembered as a kind and generous person who will be greatly missed by her many friends and family members.

She attended country school near Lynnville and on June 4, 1940 was united in marriage to William Stewart in Sully. Over the years Mary raised and showed registered quarter horses as well as a twenty year career with Maytag. She was a member of the New Harvest Community Church where she enjoyed meeting with the Bible Study group. Mary also enjoyed attending harness races in What Cheer and coffee time with her friends at Donna's cafe. She will be remembered as a excellent cook and a woman with a tremendous work ethic.
Mary is survived by a son Larry Stewart of Colfax, two daughters, Pheryl Stewart and Nancy(Roger)Pothoven both of New Sharon; two brothers, Charly Beyer and Carrol (Mary Lou)Beyer both of Sully; a sister, Arlen(Lloyd)Brand of Sully; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill and a sister Dorothy Van Zee.
Funeral services will begin at 10 am on Friday, July 1, 2011 at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon. Visitation will be held Thurday from 6-8 pm. Interment will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Lynnville.
He was united in marriage to Miss. Garrett on October 14, 1954. To this union, they were blessed with two children. Carrol farmed his entire life with his wife Mary Lou. He was an accomplished woodworker and enjoyed making furniture and toys for his grandchildren.
He loved going into Lynnville and playing cards every afternoon with his friends until his health prevented him from doing so. He managed the Lynnville fast pitch softball team and was a member of the Lions Club. Family was very important to him and his greatest joy was his grandchildren. He always made time for them and made them feel special. He loved watching them play sports and never missed a game in which they played. He will be forever remembered for his great sense of humor, always having Tic Tac's in his pocket for his family and their friends, and his kind, caring heart.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 63 years; their two children; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Carrol is also survived by his sister.
Carrol is preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, his siblings: Dorothy (Andrew) Van Zee, Mary (William) Stewart, Charly (Elotia) Beyer, and his brothers and sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Dale Hazelett, Arlene and William Salway, Bill and Miladean Garrett, Bob and Juanita Garrett, Bob Plate, Fred Jr. and Marge Black, Donald Garrett, and Keith Garrett.

On October 14, 1954, she was united in marriage to Carrol Beyer. To this union they were blessed with two children: Candy and Barry. Mary Lou helped her husband Carrol work on the farm her entire life. Family was very important to her and her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She always made time for them and made them feel special. She loved watching them play sports and never missed a game in which they played. She was a member of the Lynnville Friends Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children: Candy and Merl Van Zante, and Barry and Linda Beyer; her grandchildren: Matthew and Alexis Van Zante, Landon and Jana Van Zante, Jordon Van Zante and Allie Reed, Nick Beyer and Kelsey Beyer; and four great grandchildren: Dawson and Braden Van Zante and Alexa and Noelle Van Zante. Mary Lou is survived by her sister Betty Plate of Pella and Elaine (Danny) Brown of Oskaloosa. Mary Lou is also survived by her sisters-in-law: Nadine Garrett and Nancy Garrett and her siblings-in-law Lloyd (Arlene) Brand.

Reva "Arlene" Brand was born October 10,1933, to Gerrit and Gertie (Slycord) Beyer, in her parents' home in Taintor, Iowa. She passed away at Park Centre in Newton on September3, 2020. Arlene attended school in Sully and wasa 1951 graduate of Sully High School. On January 1, 1952, she was united inmarriage to Lloyd Brand in The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with three children: Gale, Dale, and Lisa.
Arlene and Lloyd were always together! She was a homemaker and helped him on the farm. Her family meant the world to her. She was a loving, self-less, humble woman who was always joyful. She lived to serve and care for others, and she especially loved little children. Arlene also loved to tease and joke and she was a competitive card player. She collected antiques, and deer and dog dishes. She enjoyed attending country music concertsat Lake Rathbun and on Branson vacations. She and Lloyd started attending church at the Sully Meeting Room and then joined the First Baptist Church in Pella.
Those left to cherish her memory are herhusband, Lloyd, and their family: Gale and Brent Larsen of Grinnell, Daleand Tana Brand of Sully, and the late Lisa and Ron Jansen of Pella; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by herparents, her daughter Lisa Jansen, and her sisters: Dorothy (Andrew) Van Zee,Mary (Bill) Stewart, and her brothers: Charly (Elotia) Beyer, and Carrol (MaryLou) Beyer.
A private family funeral will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 5, at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella. There will be a Livestream of the service on the Garden Chapel Facebook page. A socially distant visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 5, also at the Garden Chapel Funeral Home with family present and masks will be required.

On January 1, 1952, he was united in marriage to Arlene Beyer in The Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. To this union they were blessed with three children: Gale, Dale, and Lisa. Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Army on June 12, 1953. He attained the rank of Corporal, completed eight years' of service under Universal Military Training and Service Act, and was honorably discharged in 1961. Lloyd was a farmer and made truck deliveries for Co-Line. He served on the board of directors for Taintor Cooperative and the Pella REC. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pella.
He is also survived by his sister Dorothy Loder of Arvada, Colorado.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Arlene, his parents, his daughter Lisa Jansen, his brother Roscoe (Wilma) Brand, and brother-in-law Ervin Loder.
