Obituaries of Richard Jr
Richard Van Klaveren, Jr. age 94, went to be with his beloved wife in heaven, while in the loving care of his family in his home in the early morning hours of Saturday April 25th, 2020.

Richard was born in Eddyville, Iowa to Richard Van Klaveren, Sr. and Tillie (Van Kooten) Van Klaveren on March 22nd, 1926. As a teenager, Richard heroically served in the US Navy during WWII, piloting LCVP Landing Crafts from the USS Lenawee. He participated in two major battles in the South Pacific. (Okinawa and Iwo Jima).

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife and square dance partner Marguerite Van Klaveren, who left us in 2001.

He is survived by his 5 children Tommy and his wife Joan Van Klaveren, Roxanne Van Brown and Mike, Rick and his wife Diane Van Klaveren, Rosie Van Klaveren, Scott and his wife Anita Van Klaveren, whom are my joy, 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard loved life! Living, working and dancing in the Texas hill country, especially in Leakey and Kerrville. Dad built a thriving business out of our hunting camp, which was later relocated in Kerrville, Texas. (Hill Country Business Machines). He was a proud and dedicated supporter of the former Texas Ranger Foundation and St Jude Children's Hospital.

Dad will be laid to rest next to our mother in the Leakey Floral Cemetery at 11am on Saturday May 2nd, 2020. Visitation will be on Friday, May 1st, from 1-7 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 275 Market St. in Leakey.

Arrangements are under the personal care of Nelson Funeral Home of Leakey, Texas.

Obituary for Faye Coffey

Faye Coffey, 90, passed from this life into the arms of God on November 26, 2018, while at her home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born February 19, 1928 and was one of five children born to Richard and Tillie Van Klaveren. Faye was proud of her Dutch heritage; loved going to her cabin in North Carolina; enjoyed baking her wonderful tasty biscuits; but more importantly cherished being a devoted faithful Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband of 44 years.

Faye was loved and will be greatly missed by her three children; Blaine Jr. (Donna) Coffey, Brenda (Kenneth) Barr and Marsha Walls, nine grandchildren; Stephanie Propst, Tiffany Martin, Kenneth M. Barr, Brent Coffey, Charity Coury, Christopher Coffey, Gretchen Berner, Mathew Whitson, and Megan Rodriguez and 19 great-grandchildren. As well as one brother, Richard Van Klaveren; one sister, Charlene Wyle and her many Christian brothers and sisters.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Jesus Aguilar and Trinity Hospice for guiding us through the process of helping our mom reach her eternal place.

Visitation will begin Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Southeast Church of Christ. Funeral Service will be Monday, December 3, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Southeast Church of Christ with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
