Cornelia Punt, 96, of Sioux Center, died Wednesday, August 8. Services were Saturday, August 11, at 10 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center.
The former Cornelia Hulstein was born May 5, 1894, at Sioux Center. She lived her youth in the Sioux Center area and attended country school there. She married Leonard "Lane" Punt on January 16, 1916, at Sioux Center.
After their marriage they farmed with his father and then farmed southwest of Sioux Center until 1952 when they semi-retired and moved to an acreage. They moved into Sioux Center in 1965. She was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church and attended ladies' society for many years.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Anna Irene Van Marel of Orange City; two sisters. Grace Granstra of Ocheyedan and Henrietta Kiel of Sheldon; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Arie Punt, 89, of Sioux Center died Monday, November 30, in a hospital in Rock Valley.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Thursday , December 3, at First Reformed church in Sioux Center with Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens cemetery.
Punt was born May 1, 1898, in Maurice.
He married Winnie Hulstein December 5, 1919 in Sioux Center. The couple farmed in the Sioux center area She died April 24, 1986.
Punt was a member of First Baptist Church in Sioux Center.
Survivors include three daughters, Irene Van Roekel of Sioux Center, Johanna Van Kekerix of Tama and Geraldine Poppen of Oakland, New Jersey; a brother, Lane G. of Sioux Center; eight grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; and two great-greatgrandchildren.
