Obituary of Lane Jr:
Rock Valley Man Dies in Crash Sunday Morning
Lane Rozeboom Jr Killed Instantly; Hit Bridge Railing
Sioux county's fifth highway fatality of 1955 occured early Sunday morning when Lane Rozeboom, 24, was killed.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lane Rozeboom Sr. of Rock Valley. Rozeboom was apparently killed instantly when his 1955 Chevrolet V-8 crashed into the railing of a concrete bridge on a county road a mile west and four and a half miles south of Rock Valley.

Sioux County Sheriff Harry Dykstra, Highway Patrolman George Dunn and County Coroner A. D. Van Etten investigated. Dykstra said that Rozeboom's car was "completely wrecked - one of the worst I've ever seen." The wrecked car and the body of the young man were found about 6 a.m. Sheriff Dykstra said the electric clock had stopped at 2:40 a.m. It is believed" that Rozeboom, fell asleep at the wheel. He had been employed at the Heuer farm southwest of Rock Valley.

Rozeboom had been granted a divorce Friday from Leida Rozeboom; who is living in the Netherlands. They were married November 24, 1954, in the Town of Arnheim, Holland while he was on leave from the U.S. Army. He had been stationed in Germany.
