Graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Employed as a grade school teacher in Marengo for over 25 years. Member of the PEO, National Honor Socity, Kappa Delta Pi and Gold Key as well as a member of First United Methodist Church in Marengo and active in the United Methodist Women's Association.
Favorite pasttimes included reading and music.
Married on March 13, 1982.
He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Flight Surgeon stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. He did a residency at the University Of Iowa, Department Of Family Practice, and was in private practice from 1974 to 2008 at the Medical Arts Clinic in Hickory, N.C., until his retirement.
He is survived by his Wife, two Sons, and four Grandchildren.
