Verda "Joyce" Keller
(October 29, 1946 - June 4, 2017)

Verda "Joyce" Keller, 70, Fairfield, passed away June 4th at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Visitation for family & friends will be 6-8 PM, Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield, Iowa.

Funeral service is 10 AM, Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Stockport Christian Church in Stockport, Iowa with Pastor Nathan Chaplin officiating. Burial will be at Spencer Cemetery following the service.

In-lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Stockport Christian Church. Cards and memorials can be mailed to: 2286 Peppermint Blvd., Fairfield, Iowa 52556.

Joyce was born October 29th, 1946, at her parent’s home in Van Buren county, Iowa, to John Westercamp and Elsie (Triplett) Westercamp. She grew up on her parent’s farm near Bonaparte, Iowa and attended country school and Bonaparte school in her early years. Joyce graduated Valedictorian from Harmony High School in 1964.

She married Richard M. Keller on September 10, 1966, in Stockport, Iowa. Joyce was a member of the Stockport Christian Church and was very active in all church activities. She was a dependable servant of God, teaching Sunday School and serving as a deaconess. Joyce served the Lord, whom she loved so dearly, with all of her talents as a cook, teacher, and encourager, and shared with her abilities to garden.

Joyce worked with her husband in all aspects of farm life. She was devoted to raising her children and grandchildren. Joyce also worked as a cook at Fairfield High School for seventeen years.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Richard Keller; four children, Matthew (Beatrice) Keller of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Philip (Sarah) Keller of Berthoud, Colorado, Trevor (Naomi) Keller of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Bethany (William) Scheidecker of North Liberty, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, Sadie, Titus, Maggie, Silas, Ezra, Chloe, Micah, Aviyah, Lucie, Caleb, Jonah, Ronen, Aaron, Ian, Hadassah; six brothers, John Charles, LaVern, Rex, Max, Marvin, and David Westercamp all of Van Buren county; and two sisters, Velma Caston of Burlington, Iowa and Audrey Caston of Mason City, Iowa.

She is preceded by her parents, John and Elsie Westercamp; one brother, Hubert Westercamp; and one sister, Vivian Kreiss.
