HARSKAMP, DAVID AND ILA (VAN ROEKEL)
Dave Harskamp and Ila Van Roekel graduated trom Sioux Center Community School in 1968. Dave graduated from the University of Northern IA in 1972, while he attended college he lettered in football, basketball and track. Ila attended business college end then was employed with First National Bank in Sioux Center. In 1970 after they were married they moved to Cedar Falls, IA. Ila was employed by the First National Bank of Cedar Falls. After graduating from college Dave taught industrial arts at Waterloo Community School for one year.
They moved to Early, IA, where Dave taught at Crestland Community School and also coached for three years. Ila worked for the Crestland Community School as a secretary. In 1976 they moved back to Sioux Center. Dave was employed by Van Roekel Real Estate and Ila by the City of Sioux Center as bookkeeper. In 1982 Dave started teaching industrial arts and coaching junior high basketball and track at the Sioux Center Community School. In March of 1982 Ila started working as a secretary for German Farmers Mutual Insurance Association of Sioux Center. They have three children who attend Sioux Center Community School; Shantelle Fae born Nov. 28, 1972, Timothy David born June 25, 1976, and Thomas Jeffery born Jan. 18, 1978.
