John Randolph Korver, 82, of West Manchester Township, died at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday at
his residence.
He was the husband of Gertrude (Swier) Korver.
Born April 27, 1930, in Red Bank, New Jersey, a son of the late William J. and
Margaret Y. (Fitzrandolph) Korver, he was retired as Manager of Jackson Towsnhip.
In addition to his wife of more than 52 years, Mr. Korver is survived by two daughters, Anna M. Krout, and her husband, Robert, of York, and Martina J. McCleary, and her husband, K.C., of York; two sons, William W. Korver, and his wife, Jennifer, of Ocoee, Florida, and Edward R. Korver, and his wife, Jane, of York; 10 grandchildren; four brothers, Joel Korver, of Taylor, South Carolina, Jim Korver, of Post Falls, Idaho, Timothy Korver, of Xenia, Illinois, and George Korver, of Sleepy Hollow, Illinois; and three sisters, Jane Froisland, of San Jose, California, Kate Vieselmeyer, of Cour d'Alene, Idaho, and Margery Orr, of Post Falls Idaho.
Funeral services will be private, with The Rev. Robert H. Riedy, Pastor of Church of the Open
Joel Robert Korver, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on April 29, 2014.
Born in Somerville, NJ, on June 30, 1932 to the late William J. Korver and
Margaret Randolph Korver, Joel was preceded in death by 5 siblings and 2 children.
Surviving are his wife Alice; 3 sisters, Jane Froisland, Kate Vieselmeyer, and
Margie Orr; 3 brothers, Tim Korver, George Korver, and Jim Korver; 4 sons, Bob
Korver, Randy David, Warren David, and Koko Korver; 2 daughters, Kathy Kelly, and
Kimberly George; 23 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Joel was a self-employed entrepreneur. After retirement, he had a world-wide ministry of helps for Bible-believing groups.
A memorial service for Joel will be held at Faith Baptist Church, 500 West Lee Road, Taylors, SC, on Saturday, May 3 at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, designated for "Short Term Missions."
Born in West Grove, Chester County, PA he was the son of William J. Korver of Auburn, Calif. and the late Magaret Y Randolph Korver. He was the husband of the late Lois Musselman Korver who died in 1985.
He worked as a farmer, and was a member of Bair's-Hostetter Mennonite Church in Hanover, where he served on the board of trustees and was a Bible School teacher.
He is survived by one son, Steve A. Korver of 683 Centennial Road, Gettysburg; a daughter, Twila Korver at home; one grandson; five brothers, John R. Korver, Thomasville; Joel R. Korver of Greenville, SC; James R. Korver, Spokane, WA; Timothy Korver of Seymour, MO and George Korver, Auburn, CA; three sisters, Jane R. Froisland of San Jose, CA; Kate E. Vieselmeyer and Margery Korver of Coeur d-Alene, Idaho.
Funeral Services were held at Bair's Mennonite Church, York Road, Hanover. Officiating were Brother Richard L. Herr and Brother John Forry. Interment was in York Road Cemetery.
Lois Eleanor Korver, 47, 383 Kilpatrick Road, New Oxford, died Sunday at Hanover
Hospital.
She was born in Adams County, daughter of Richard and Margaret Miller Musselman, Gettysburg.
She was a member of Bair's Hostetter Mennonite Church. She and her family owned and operated a turkey and dairy farm in Adams County the past 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, William J. Korver, Jr; one son, Steve A. Korver at home; one daughter, Twila M. Korver, also at home; two brothers, Eugene Musselman and Gary Musselman, both of Mechanicsburg; one sister, Nancy Ness, New Oxford and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the Bair's Mennononite Meeting House. Pastors Richard K. Herr and John J. Forry officiated. Burial was in York Road Cemetery.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lurline, children, William (and his wife, Susan) and Janie and granddaughter, Gracelyn. He is also survived by siblings, Jane, Jim, Kate, Tim and Margery, along with a vast extended family.
George was born on March 11, 1946, in Albuquerque, NM, during his family's journey to California. Growing up on a farm as one of nine children, hard work, humility, love, compassion for people and God's creation were ingrained early on. George graduated from Wheaton College in 1968 and served in youth ministry, where he guided countless lives to Christ and ultimately met the other love of his life, Lurline. Together, they raised two children and welcomed Susie into the family at a wedding officiated by George. Recently, George and Lu joyfully welcomed their first grandchild, Gracelyn Lurline. Throughout his life and ministry, George emulated the Savior's unconditional love for family, friends and even strangers. We are grateful for George's legacy and rejoice in his Homecoming.
He was preceded in death by parents, William and Margaret, and brothers, John, Joel and William. George's family and friends will miss him dearly, but also praise the Lord for the blessed assurance of his salvation.
A memorial in celebration of George's life and service to the Kingdom will be announced at a future date.
