Obituary of Jennie
Jennie Marjorie Bouma, 88, of Orange City died Monday, November 21, at the Heritage House Nursing Home in Orange City. Funeral service was Friday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. David Heilman officiating. Interment was at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City.

Mrs. Bouma was born on May 29, 1917, at Orange City, the daughter of Dick and Gertrude (Korver) Reinsma. She was raised at Orange City. On September 6, 1939, she married Ralph Bouma at Orange City. They made their home in Orange City, where she was a homemaker and also assisted her husband with his Watkins Products distributorship. He died April 14, 1988, in Sioux City. In the spring of 1998, she became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City. In December of 1998, she transferred to the Heritage House.

She was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, sang in the choir, and participated in the women's activities. She was also a vocalist for special occasions, singing solos and duets with her brother. She was active in the Monica Society in Orange City, and she and her husband enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include her daughter; three sons; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother and his wife; a sister; and two sisters-in-law.

She was also preceded in death by a grandson; four sisters, Sophie Reinsma, Wilhelmina Woudstra, Jeanette Docter and Martina Kreykes; and two brothers, The Rev. William Reinsma and Jerry Reinsma.

Memorials will be directed to the Unity Christian High School in Orange City.
