On December 5, 1948, he was united in marriage to Lillian Slegers in Holland, Minnesota. In 1955, they moved to Iowa, where they continued to farm until 1960, when they moved to California. In 1960, he became employed as a truck driver, and in 1982, Marv retired. He resided in Lakewood, California until his death on November 2, 2009 at the age of 89 years.
Marvin was a member of the Reformed Church of America. He was an avid hunter and loved to travel. Spending time with his family took him all over the country, but he was most at home in Iowa and Minnesota. In his heart, he was always a farmer.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lillian Korver of Lakewood, California; his children, Gerald Korver and his spouse, Marcia, of Roosevelt, Utah, Sylvia Svetlik and her spouse, Robert, of Crockett, Texas, Marlene Zwiep and her spouse, Paul, of Lakewood, California, and Mary De Yager and her spouse, Lyndal Mize, of Bellflower, California; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martina Ryswyk of Springfield, Missouri; and Glenda Garbers and her spouse, Erwin, of Lake Benton, Minnesota; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerrit and Marie Korver; one brother, William Korver; and two sisters, Sylvia Slegers and Marjorie Loenhorst.
