Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, June 18, at 1:30 P.M., at the First Reformed Church in Sibley for Jake Vos, 60, who died June 15 at his home.
Rev. John Van Mantgem officiated. Burial was in Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley with Walton Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Vos was born Jan. 12, 1919, at Sioux Center, the son of Jan and Carrie Jans Vos.
He married Johanna Van Engen on March 14, 1940, at Sioux Center. They moved to Sibley in 1951 where they owned and operated a hatchery and feed store.
Mr. Vos was a member of the First Reformed Church were he served as a deacon for four years.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna; two sons, John and Bob, both of Sibley; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alice Van Riesen, and a brother, Wilbur, both of Sioux Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Johanna Gertrude Vos, 87 Sibley died Wed. evening Dec. 7 at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley.
Services were Saturday, Dec. 10 at First Reformed Church in Sibley, with Rev. Gary Van Heukelom officiating. Burial was at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley under the direction of Walton-Roste Funeral Home in Sibley.
Johanna Vos, daughter of John and Tina (Van Roekel) Van Engen was born Feb. 11 1918 in Alton. She grew up in Archer and attended Archer High School.
She married Jake Vos on March 14, 1940. They made their home in Sioux Center. They moved in 1951 to Sibley and operated Vos Hatchery.
Mr. Vos died in 1979 at which time she sold the hatchery and started working at Van's Bakery and later at Powers Bakery, a job she held for many years. She also cleaned houses for many women in Sibley.
She was a member of First Reformed Church in Sibley, where she taughter Sunday School, catechism and was a sponsor of the Girls League.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed baking, cooking and doing hand work in her spare time.
Survivors include two sons, John and Faye Vos of Sibley, and Bob and Norma Vos of Sibley; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mina and Cornie Van Kley of Sanborn, and Tina and Norman Buysman of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and three sisters-in-law, Ruth Van Engen of Sioux Center, Agnes Van Engen of Sanborn, and Amy Van Engen of Orange City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jake Vos; four sisters, Gert and Joe Baker, Nancy and Nick Cuperus, Clazina and Mitch Vander Veen, and Alice Van Engen; and seven brothers, Gerrit, Abe, John, Gerrit, George, and Bill and Albert Van Engen.
