[*Note A.G.:His newspaper obit on March 8, 1961: "Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, July 31 [*1961], for Mr. Gerrit Nibbelink, 51, of Orange City, who passed away Friday afternoon [*July 28, 1961] of a heart attack. Rev. Harlan Roelofs officiated at the services in the Second Christian Reformed church. Burial was made in the Orange City community cemetery under the direction of the Van Etten Funeral Home. He was a long-life resident of the Orange City vicinity. He married Christine Engbers September 1, 1932. Surviving are his wife, Christine [*Engbers]; two sons, Donald of IA City and Ervin at home; two sisters, Dena (Mrs. Henry Haarsma) and Marie (Mrs. Chris Rowenhorst), both of Orange City; two stepbrothers, John and Albert Schuller and one step-sister, Ada Schuller of Orange City"].

About Christine's wrote the local newspaper: "Christine Nibbelink, 90, of Orange City died Tuesday, Nov. 7, [*2001], at Orange City Municipal Hospital. Funeral services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. Paul Bakker officiated. Christine was born Feb. 6, 1911, in Pella, the daughter of George and Grace (Vander Linden) Engbers. She was raised on a farm near Pella. In 1928, she moved with her family to Orange City. On Sept. 1, 1932, she married Gerrit W. Nibbelink in Orange City. They farmed northwest of Orange City. Mr. Nibbelink passed away July 28, 1961, in Orange City. In October 1964, Mrs. Nibbelink moved into Orange City. She became a resident of Pioneer Memorial Home in January 1986. In November 1999, she transferred to Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community. Christine was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church, where she participated in Harmony Circle. In earlier years, she taught Sunday School and catechism. She enjoyed doing volunteer work. Survivors include a son and his wife, Dr. Donald and Elsie Nibbelink of Lindsdale, Pa.; four grandchildren and their spouses, Lynne and Robert Kvinnesland of Center Valley, Pa.; Brian Nibbelink of Burlington, Vt., Kevin and Christy Nibbelink of Fort Collins, Colo., and Bruce and Jean Nibbelink of Leesburg, Va.; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Leona Kooistra of Jenison, Mich. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Erwin Lee on Oct. 14, 1996; a brother, Albert Engbers; and a sister, Freda Heynen. Memorials are being directed to Hope Haven in Rock Valley".
