HULSTEIN, KELLY D. AND SHERYL R. (KOOI)
Kelly Dean Hulstein was born on December 6, 1956, to Ken and Eunice (Schutt) Hulstein. He attended the Sioux Center Community grade school and high school. He then attended IA State University for a short period. He then returned to the farm with his father and brother on the family farm, which was located 3 miles north and 1 mile west of Sioux Center. He married Sheryl Rae Kooi on April 7, 1979, in Sioux Center.

Sheryl was born on May 20, 1958, to Bil land "Mike" Kooi of Ireton. The Kooi family lived on a farm located west of Sioux Center. Sheryl attended the Lebanon Christian Grade School and then Western Christian School in Hull. Following graduation from High School she attended St. Joseph, a Mercy School of Nursing in Sioux City. Upon graduation as a RN. she worked for 1 year at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, working in the intensive care unit. Following their marriage Sheryl began working at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. She was working the last 8 years in the surgery department.
Kelly and Sheryl are the parents of Erica Rae born on April 15, 1981, A son Kyle Kristopher was still born Aug. 26, 1983. A second daughter Stephanie Lynae was born on September 26, 1984. Ross Derek was born November 26, 1988.
Kelly and Sheryl have lived their married live, on the family farm, and presently reside in a home that they built in 1984. Kelly remains farming with his father and 2 brothers; Kirk and Kraig. As a family they enjoy horseback riding activities.
