Gerrit was born in Inwood, Iowa, on May 4, 1919, the first of nine children. He was predeceased by six of them. Gerrit met his future wife, Jeanette, as a penpal. They were married on May 1, 1946, in Artesia, California. They were longtime residents of Buena Park, California, where they raised two sons and two daughters. The family has many fond memories of their camping and fishing trips. He was a member of Bethel Baptist church. Gerrit retired as a groundskeeper at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cypress, California, and soon moved to McMinnville in 1990 to be closer to his grandchildren.
Gerrit is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette; sons, Garry (Judi) and Cal Van Holland; daughters, Jeanie (Bob) Kistner and Marcie (Gary) Perkins; sister, Gertie Boeve; brother, Tom (Marlene) Van Holland; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ed met his wife Mina Van Holland in Rock Valley, Iowa. Ed and Mina were married June 10, 1953. They were married 54 years until Mina’s passing in December 2007. While married he served in the U.S. Army and was deployed to Germany. After his military service Ed attended Palmer Chiropractic College in Davenport, IA. He initiated his Chiropractic practice in Rock Rapids, IA and had a rewarding and successful business until his retirement 37 years later (1995).
During his business career he was an influencer and actively participated in Kiwanis, Rock Rapids Development Corporation, Iowa Chiropractic Society, The American Chiropractic Association, and Iowa Chiropractic Orthopedic Society. He was involved with the development of Lake Pahoja recreation area, VFW, and the American Legion. Ed enjoyed fishing at Okoboji, the Rock River and coaching Little League.
Ed was a member of the Rock Rapids First Reformed church for many years before moving to Spirit Lake, at which time, he became a member of the United Methodist Church and enjoyed the men’s group, Methodist Mafia. Ed loved to travel the country and met his goal of visiting all 50 states. He and Mina traveled to several parts of the world including Germany, Holland, and the Holy Land. While widowed, Ed met Betty Kipfer while camping in Spirit Lake. They were married Sept. 2014 and they made their home in Spirit Lake, IA.
Ed is survived by 3 children Cheryl Sandholm, Sandy Hammond (Earl), Jon Kragt (wife Pam); 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; brothers Preston, Joel, John (wife Pam); sister-in-laws Elaine Vreeman, Darlene Van holland, Tom and Marlene Van Holland and many nieces and nephews.
Ed was preceded in death by parents John and Anna (Brower) Kragt; wife Mina (Van Holland) Kragt, brother Harvey Kragt, sisters-in-law Karen Kragt, Mary Lee Kragt, nephew Allen and 2nd wife Betty Kipfer.

John Van Holland, son of John and Bertha (Ennema) Van Holland was born September 15, 1933 in their farm house near Rock Valley. He attended Rock Valley Christian School then he and his brother stayed home to help their mother on the family farm. John married Darlene De Jager on July 26, 1955 at Carmel, Iowa. Two weeks later John went on to serve in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After serving, he returned home and farmed by Rock Valley as farming was his passion. His life's work established the family farm which he worked with his 8 children. John was a member of First Christian Reformed Church and a charter member of Trinity Christian Reformed Church where he served as elder, committees, and church building committees. He played influential roles in several organizations, including the Rural Water board for 20 years, Pork Producers, Western Christian School Board. His passion for Jesus and his servant's heart lead him to serve the Nashville, Okalona, and Mississippi areas helping in any way he could. John's family, friends and faith were most important to him. He enjoyed going to grandchildren events, which took up a great deal of time; he enjoyed a rousing game of cards with friends, golfing, traveling, spending time camping, and coffee time with the men at Stone Soup and Subway.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Darlene of 54 years; son, Doug (Geri) Van Holland of Sioux City; daughter Pam (Jerry) Van Roekel of Rock Valley; son Dave (Leanne) Van Holland of Sioux Center; daughter Laura (Glen) Sneller of Sioux Center; son Bryan (Bonnie) Van Holland of Sioux City; son Lyle (Sharla) Van Holland of Rock Valley; daughter Cindy (Brad) Kamstra of Littleton, Colorado/Rock Valley, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers Gerrit (Jeanette) Van Holland of Oregon; Dick (Mary) Van Holland of Texas; Tom (Marlene) Van Holland of Rock Valley; sister, Gertie Boeve of Rock Rapids; brother-in-law, Dr Edwin Kragt of Rock Rapids.
John was preceded in death by his parents, precious daughter Carol Van Holland; parents; sisters Tena Van Kekerix, Dora Kooima, Mina Kragt; brother, Enno Van Holland; brothers-in-law Bill Van Kekerix, Ken Kooima, Dick Boeve.
