William Van Wyhe, 68, of Hull died July 28 at a Rock Valley hospital of a brief illness. Services were at 1:30 p. m. Monday July 31 in the Christian Reformed . Church, at Hull. The Rev. John Fondse officiated. Burial was in Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Kraai Funeral Home of Hull.
Mr. Van Wyhe was born June 7, 1910, at Hull and lived most of his life near Hull except for the first five years of his married life when he lived near Rock Valley.
He married Nellie Verburg on March 4, 1936, at Rock Valley. He was a retired farmer and a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include the widow, four sons, Kerwin of Denver, Colorado, Willard of Webster City, Iowa, the Rev. Arthur of Allendale, Michigan and Daryl of Hull; two daughters, Mrs. Jasper (Marlene) Timmer of Sioux Center and Mrs. Gary (Janice) Bomgaars of Denver. Also two brothers, Jacob of Brodenton, Florida and Lammert of Kansas City. Also three sisters, Mrs. Bert (Jennie) Franken of Boyden and Mrs. Nic (Christine) Van Marel and Mrs. Gerrit (Gertrude) Van Otterloo, both of Sheldon, and 18 grandchildren.

Nellie Van Wyhe, 92, of Hull died Wednesday, June 1, at the Sioux Center Community Nursing Facility. A memorial service was Saturday at 2 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church of Hull with the Rev. Art Van Wyhe and the Rev. Arnold Punt officiating. Interment was in Hope Cemetery of Hull.
Mrs. Van Wyhe was born on September 8, 1912, to Klaas and Henrietta (Beek) Verburg on a farm south of Rock Valley. She attended church and school in Rock Valley and married William Van Wyhe of Hull on March 4, 1936. They lived on two farms south of Rock Valley for the first six years of their marriage and later moved to the Van Wyhe home place a mile west of Perkins corner where her husband had grown up.
The couple raised their six children on the farm and resided there until 1976. They then retired to Hull, where her husband died 1½ years later at age 68.
In 1996 she moved to Franken Manor in Sioux Center. In September of 2003 she was hospitalized in Sioux City with health problems. Following her return she moved to the Sioux Center Nursing Facility. She enjoyed some tours and sightseeing and visiting children in the years prior to her nursing home residency. She has always been a very good seamstress and has enjoyed sewing, crocheting and crafts. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.
Survivors include her children, Marlene and Jasper (Jack) Timmer of Sioux Center, Kerwin and Fran of Denver, Colorado, Willard and Beverly of Webster City, the Rev. Art and Joanne of Holland, Michigan, Janice and Gary Bomgaars of Denver and Daryl and Marvella of Hull; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three brothers, William and Gertrude Verburg of Primghar, Henry and Ann Verburg of Sheldon and Richard and Marian Verburg of Rock Valley.
She was also preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Albert Vink; and one infant granddaughter.

Jasper "Jack" Timmer, 79 years old, of Sioux Center, IA, died unexpectedly on Thursday,
April 21, 2016, at his home near Sioux Center, IA.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 25, 2016, at First Reformed Church
in Sioux Center with Rev. Travis Else officiating.
There will be a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. at the church, with burial to follow at
Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. with family present from 4-6 on Sunday, April 24,
2016 at Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.
Services have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home.
Jack was born June 15, 1936, in Sioux Center, IA, the son of Albert & Pearl (Rozeboom) Timmer. He was born and raised in Sioux Center, in the very home that he continued to live for all of his 79 years. On June 22, 1956 he married Marlene Van Wyhe in Hull, IA. The couple were planning their 60th wedding anniversary in June. Jack was a lifelong member of First Reformed Church. Marlene and Jack were youth leaders for many years. Jack provided leadership as a deacon and elder as well. For many years he played for the Tri-State Livestock fast pitch softball team. He was a leader for the Welcome Workers 4H Club. Jack and Marlene were mentors for Atlas of Sioux Center. He was an active member on the boards of Hope Haven, Sioux Center Hospital, Sioux County Pork Producers, Sioux County Cattle Feeders, and the Farmer's Co-op Society. Jack was also employed at Joe's Ready Mix in Sioux Center for several years. Jack and Marlene supported the activities and sports of Sioux Center Community Schools, where their 5 children and 16 grandchildren all attended. They were fans of Northwestern College which many of their children and grandchildren attended as well.
Jack was an avid outdoorsman, guiding and teaching his children and grandchildren in many hunting and fishing activities at rivers and ponds in the area, taking hundreds of photos along the way. Jack's passion after retiring was contributing to the beauty of their farmstead. He also enjoyed sitting in the back yard with Marlene and family members when the flowers of summer were in full bloom. His life spoke clearly of his love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Survivors include: his wife of nearly 60 years, Marlene, their children; Jeff (Mary) Timmer of Sioux Center, IA, Randy (Lisa) Timmer of Sioux Center, IA, Teri (Gary) Dolieslager, of Sioux Center, IA, Rev. Rick (Julie) Timmer of Dell Rapids, SD, Lori (Dan) Zomermaand of Sioux Center, IA. Grandchildren; Emily (Kurt) Rietema, Jill (Danny) Saucedo, Rachel (Eriv) Kruger, April (Joel) De Wit, Cody (Teri) Timmer, Ashley Timmer, Allex (Todd) Rozeboom, Amanda Consoer, Tyler (Melissa) Majerus, Ryan Majerus, Kyle Timmer, Megan Timmer, Brady Timmer, Graham Zomermaand, Noah Zomermaand, and Ethan Zomermaand. Siblings; Delores (Leonard) Leenderts of Hills, MN, Thelma (George) Hedges of Scranton, IA, Marj (Dave) Steffens of Primghar, IA, Linda Clousing of Thinesville, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by: his parents, Albert and Pearl Timmer and Marlene's parents, Bill and Nellie Van Wyhe.
Casket bearers will be Tyler Majerus, Cody Timmer, Ryan Majerus, Kyle Timmer, Brady Timmer, Graham Zomermaand, Noah Zomermaand and Ethan Zomermaand. In lieu of flowers the Timmer family requests to direct memorial donations to ATLAS and KNWC 96.5, Sioux Falls.
