Obituary Franklin Orin Long
LONG, FRANKLIN ORIN, son of Orin Long and Gertrude Long, was born April 28, 1930 in Cherokee, IA and died on Oct. 16, 2009 in Orlando.

After graduating from high school, Frank enlisted in the Air Force and served at Bowling Air Force Base. He was discharged and later drafted into the Army and proudly served his country in Korea for two years.

In 1954, he married Burlea Jean (Bea) Korver. They moved their family to a dairy farm in Wisconsin in 1956. The family returned to Iowa in 1968 where he was employed by the International Dealership. They moved to Minnesota where he worked for an auto dealership until retiring in 1992. On retirement the couple moved to Maitland where they have lived for the past 12 years. In August the couple celebrated their 55th anniversary.

He is survived by his wife, Bea Long; a sister; and a brother; Frank and Bea have five children; twelve grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; he is also survived by many sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews.

His legacy of kindness and unconditional love for his children and grandchildren is reflected in the doll houses and barns he lovingly crafted for them. Frank and Bea loved to travel and enjoyed many trips including visits to their children and grandchildren.

They were members of First Presbyterian Church of Maitland. His Memorial Service will be held in his hometown, Paullina, IA.
