VANDE VEGTE, RUSSELL AND HELEN (DUVEN)
Russell Vande Vegte grew up near Newkirk, Iowa, and went to school at Floyd Valley School System. He was born November 19, 1943 to Henry and Alida (Harskamp) Vande Vegte. After high school Russ spent two years in the army and then worked for Interstates Electric for five years. Russ married Helen Duven of Orange City on August 29, 1969.
Helen was born August 9, 1943 to Stan and Francis (Reinsma) Duven. Helen grew up and attended school in Orange City.
In 1971 Russ started his own business, Russell's Electric of Sioux Center, and has actively been working in the Sioux Center area as an electrician.
Helen is active with the choir and music department of the Carmel Reformed Church where the family attends church. Helen has taught piano lessons and is currently employed at the Sioux Center Shopper Office.
Russ and Helen have three sons: Scott Alan was born October 12, 1972, Terry Dean was born October 15, 1974 and Randall Dale was born March 13, 1982.
Russ and Helen enjoy their rural home north of Sioux Center on the Middleburg road.
