Mrs. Jake Van Der Zwaag, 33, Hull, died Thursday, Aug. 17 at her home after a sudden illness.
Services were last Monday at the First Christian Reformed Church. Burial was in the Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Van Der Zwaag, the former Verna Jean Van Engen, was born May 11, 1945, at Sheldon, Iowa. She was married Aug. 19, 1964 at Sheldon. She was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors include the widower; a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Darcy; her father,
Abe Van Engen; four brothers, Gerald, Leslie, Adrian and Dale.
Jake married Verna Jean Van Engen on August 19, 1964 in Sheldon, Iowa.

Jake Anthony Van Der Zwaag, 55, of Hull died Friday, January 28, at Sioux Center Community Hospital. Services were held on Tuesday at First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. Burial was in Hope Cemetery.
Van Der Zwaag was born January 18, 1945, at Hull, the son of Clarence and Ida (Jans) Van Der Zwaag. He spent his entire life on the same farm east of Hull. He married Verna Jean Van Engen on August 19, 1964, at Sheldon. She died August 17, 1978, at Hull. He married Sandra Sandy" Kay Foote at Sibley on October 26, 1979. He farmed and operated Van Der Zwaag Trucking with his brother. In earlier years, he also operated a feed grinder.
He was a member of First Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors, reading newspapers and going camping.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kenneth and; two daughters, Darcy and Amy; four grandchildren; a brother, Gerrit; and a sister, Clara.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
