BOONE, GREGG A. AND SHARI L. (VAN ROEKEL)
Gregg A. Boone was born April 28, 1959 in Sioux Center. He is the second of three children born to Vern and Ruth Boone, and a grandson of Carrie (Ver Steeg) Boone and the late William Boone all of Sioux Center. His maternal grandparents are Rena (Kroeze) Huisman and the late Andrew Huisman of Orange City, IA.
Gregg married Shari L. (Van Roekel) August 11, 1981, at Central Reformed Church in Sioux Center, where they now are members. Shari was born January l6, 1962. She lived on a farm near Maurice IA and is a daughter of Eugene and Darlene (Sta1lbaum) Van Roekel and is the third of five children. Shari's grandparents are Herm and Mary (Sherman) Stallbaum and the late Elmer and Gertrude (Brink) Van Roekel, all of Maurice.
Gregg and Shari have been living in Sioux Center since marriage and now reside at 227 lst Ave. SE. They have three children; Tyler Jess, born February 26, 1985; Haley Marie, born November 19, 1986, and Kiley Lynn, born July 27,1988.
Gregg worked in the business office at Area Education Agency #4, from February of 1978 to July of 1987. He then began working at Sioux Automation Center Inc., (a manufacturer and retailer of new and used farm equipment), also in Sioux Center. He is the business manager and also one of nine stockholders in the company.
A few of Gregg's hobbies include, hunting, softball, and golf. He is also a board member of the Sandy Hollow Golf course.
Shari enjoys being a fulltime mother and also takes care of two other children in her home. Her hobbies of cross-stitch and other needlework have been put on hold. Now, walks to the park, reading childrens stories, and stacking blocks have proven to be a much more rewarding pastime.
