SOODSMA, MARK AND SHERRI (BYL)
Lynn Byl is the eldest of five children of John and Carol (Van De Brake) Byl of Sioux Center. She was born on January 29, 1961, attended Sioux Center Christian Grade School, graduated in 1980 from Unity Christian High in Orange City. In August of 1980 Sherri started to work as a checker in Downtown Foodland in Sioux Center until August of 1982.
Sherri met Mark Arlin Soodsma, the eldest of four children of Pete and Helen (Heynen) Soodsma of rural Doon while cruising main street on Sunday nights - so not all bad happens there.
Mark was born on February 18, 1960 in Sioux Center, attended Hull Christian Grade School, and graduated from Hull Western Christian High School in 1978.
Mark and Sherri ware married June 2, 1982 at Faith Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center by the Rev. David Smit.
Mark works at the Hull Farmers Coop. Elevator and they live on an acreage at rural Doon. On their farm Mark and Sherri raise hogs from farrow to finish. They also have some goats and horses.
Mark and Sherri have two children, Trisha Joy, who was born in Sioux Center on December 5, 1982. She attends Hull Christian Grade School. Travis Mark was the Sioux Center New Year's baby, born Jan. 1, 1986. Mark and Sherri are expecting their third child sometime in April of 1990.
The Soodsma family are members of the First Christian Reformed Church of Hull, IA.
